Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti says he is”stunned” by the country of the dressing rooms after renovation work at the Stadio San Paolo.
The Serie A side played with their first two games of this season.
Napoli sponsor Sampdoria on Saturday, prior to the visit of Liverpool on Tuesday in the Champions League.
“You can build a home in two weeks, but they weren’t capable of renovating dressing rooms,” said Ancelotti.
On Thursday, Napoli posted a video with scaffolding in place, pots of paint on the floor, sockets unfinished and sinks missing showing the dressing rooms.
In a statement about the club site, Ancelotti added:”I’ve observed the state of the vanities at the San Paolo. There aren’t any words. As was guaranteed I approved the club’s request to play with the two matches to enable the job to be completed.
“Where are we now supposed to have changed for the games against Sampdoria and Liverpool? I am shocked at the incompetence of these folks.
“How can the area, municipality and commissioners fail to respect the commitments which were made? It smacks of also a deficiency of a bond with the team of all the city and disregard. I am dismayed.”
In quotes reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, architect Filomena Smiraglia stated:”I’m baffled by the announcement by Ancelotti.
“We had a trip to the dressing room by the Napoli vice-president Edoardo de Laurentiis, who complimented us in front of the employees for the job”.
However, this fact has been contested by Napoli, that said:”Napoli denies that De Laurentiis praised architect Filomena Smiraglia about the redevelopment work on the San Paolo dressing rooms”
Carlo Perego from Tipiesse, who completed the functions, said:”We aren’t late, indeed we’re ahead on times.”
