Sir Andrew Strauss to chair ECB committee

Sir Andrew Strauss has been appointed as the chair of the England and Wales Cricket Board committee.

Strauss, who had been this week knighted in the resignation honours of Theresa May, gave up his position as manager of cricket last year to spend time together along with his wife, Ruth.
The captain has now agreed to seat the ECB cricket committee, and has continued to work closely with the organisation, in addition to establishing the Ruth Strauss Foundation.
Peter Wright, that has been in place for the previous nine years was replaced by him.
“It is a true pleasure to go back to ECB in this new capability. ECB and the entire cricket family have been a critical source of support over a very tough year and it’s really great to be back at Lord’sa place that’s become a second home to me,” Strauss said.
“I am extremely passionate about developing and expanding championships in England and Wales and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the stunt to drive all aspects of the professional sport, including women’s, men’s and handicap cricket.
“I have seen firsthand this summer cricket has motivated more people to fall in love with the game and I can not wait to help build on its success.”
